For many years, I have been examining every aspect of a film production in terms of sustainability, efficiency, and creativity. In many cases, new film technologies are a great help and enrichment. In addition, I am intensively involved in the question of how sustainability and the associated changes can be communicated in a better way.
I am of the pioneers in this new area, in which Germany has now taken major steps both on a national and international level.
"Green Production" in Germany is well on its way to become the new "standard". Major broadcasters such as ARD, ProSiebenSat1, RTL or ZDF as well as SKY or Netflix are requesting sustainable production methods on a mandatory basis, which must be introduced all the more urgently in every area. This requires comprehensive and specialized trainings. I consider this as an important task for myself and my dedicated colleagues.
Since 2013 I have been sharing my knowledge and experience in green film production and green storytelling in seminars, workshops, lectures and conferences.
My field of activity includes universities, TV stations, studios, networks, film funding organisations, government organisations and academies in Germany and Europe.

In 2019, on behalf of the "Green Shooting" working group, I developed the guidelines for sustainable film & TV productions, which were adopted by ProSiebenSat1 and RTL and are now the basis of the ecological minimum standards for film & TV production, which are mandatory since 01.01.2022.

In 2020, I developed the first curriculum for "Green Consultants" for the film and TV industry in Germany. This training is unique in the world and was made possible by the support of the FFF.
The curriculum focuses on every aspect of a production: energy, lighting, transportation, stage design, set design, decoration construction, catering, buildings, office, carbon footprint, green production planning, and green storytelling and design.
In the meantime, I have also set up this training in Italy and Austria and trained a total of 300 Green Consultants.
In 2020, I was commissioned by the EU to prepare a comprehensive study on "Greening the Audiovisual Industry in Europe". This study was published 2021:

Since the beginning of 2021 I am part of an expert group developing a European Green Label and a European CO2 calculator for the Film & TV Industry.
